Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal Madhya Pradesh was formed from a depleted forest area. In order to bring back and protect the rich flora & fauna, this unproductive land was declared a National Park in 1981 under the wildlife protection act. The park is spread over 445 hectares.

This open zoological park comprises some huge wire enclosures where the carnivores like tigers, lions, panthers, bear, and hyena stay as per the modern theory of zoo management. 



Timing:
  • 16 Feb. to 15 Apr. - from 6.30 AM. to 5.30 PM.
  • 16 Apr. to 31 July. - from 6.00 AM. to 7.00 PM.
  • 01 Aug. to 31 Oct. - from 6.30 AM. to 6.30 PM.
  • 01 Nov. to 15 Feb. - from 6.30 AM. to 6.30 PM.
How to Reach:
  • By Air: The Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal is only 12 km away from the Van Vihar National Park. 
  • By Train: The Van Vihar National park in Bhopal is only 5 km from the railway station.
  • By Road: To reach Bhopal via road, there are regular buses that run from nearby places such as Sanchi, Ujjain, Vidisha,Indore and other places. Local transport within Bhopal can take you to Van Vihar National park, located in the heart of the city.
